The 2006 Retoration Show at Shepton Mallett saw us with a small display of a Morris Minor rolled onto its side (with the owners permision) displaying its 1/2 restored underside.
The car belonging to Avon Branch member John Tunnah had had its offside floor, chassis leg and spring hangers etc replaced. and undersealed while the nearside had been left completely untouched so as to show a comparison between restored & how we very often find them. This car had had many patches and home-made panels fitted over the existing sills, spring hangers, centre cross-member & floors which in turn had rusted away leaving an underside that had very little of the original left and therfore little structural strenth.

The scene was "set" by surounding the car with tools & equipment, more new panels and general garage things including discarded overalls, as the hard working restorer obviously didn't work on Saturdays or Sundays. All this resulted in us being awarded 3rd prize. So well done to all thoe's who helped.
We thank John for allowing us to display his car and for fitting this restoration into his busy schedule of work, restoring and repairing other peoples classic cars.
